The VAG platform — Audi, Volkswagen, Seat and Škoda — shares brilliant engineering
and fiendish security. Swap a dashboard, DSG mechatronic or even a head unit and the car demands
SVM codes, component-protection removal and basic settings no universal scanner can touch.
Our workshop and mobile van run genuine ODIS-Service (online) backed by VCDS and VAG-CAN-Pro,
so we code and flash your MQB or MLB car exactly as the factory intended.
Why VAG coding needs factory tools
Modern VAG vehicles use encrypted component protection on most electronic modules. A replacement
cluster, head unit or ABS pump will not function correctly until that protection is removed via
a genuine dealer log-in — third-party cables simply cannot do it. SVM (Software Version
Management) also requires a live connection to VW Group servers, meaning any software update or
adaptation that does not use an authorised ODIS session will fail or leave the module in a
degraded state.
We hold an active dealer token with GEKO/SFD access, giving us the same server connection an
Audi or VW main dealer uses. That is what separates a properly coded VAG from one that has been
bodged with a cloned cable.
Jobs we handle every week
- Golf 7 virtual cockpit retrofit stuck in SAFE mode
- Tiguan after NOx sensor swap still logging P20EE — SCR dosage test never completed
- Audi A4 B9 showing 0 km on dash after cluster replacement — mileage and VIN write needed
- Crafter 2.0 BiTDI in limp after SCR pump replacement — dosage test and learning sequence outstanding
- Seat Leon DSG clutch pack fitted but gearbox bangs on every second-gear up-shift — kiss-point basic settings not done
These jobs need factory log-ins and guided functions. Anything less is guesswork that gets
expensive quickly.
Our diagnostic and coding process
- Global scan — ODIS builds a full topology map of every module on the
network and saves a complete fault log before anything is touched. - Power lock — a Midtronics 30 A PSU pins voltage at 13.5 V for the
entire flashing session, preventing module corruption from voltage sag. - SVM / SFD security — we pull datasets direct from VW Group servers
and unlock new MQB security modules using our active dealer token. - Guided functions — DSG basic settings, NOx sensor learning,
immobiliser key match, ABS long-coding or component-protection removal as required. - Road test — a 12-mile loop up Hanchurch Hill logs boost, lambda
and DSG clutch slip under real driving conditions. - After-report — PDF protocol plus GFF fault log emailed to you
for your warranty file.
VAG services we offer
- Virtual cockpit or donor cluster — component-protection removal,
mileage and VIN write - DSG 6-speed, 7-speed and DL382 — mechatronic swap, clutch
kiss-point basic settings and adaptation reset - NOx and DPF module replacement — sensor coding, SCR dosage test
and live-data diagnostics to confirm correct function - MIB2 head unit retrofit — swap code, FEC activation and
component-protection removal - ABS and ESP pump coding — coding after replacement plus guided
brake bleed routine - Immobiliser 5 and 6 — key add or all-keys-lost via online GEKO
- SVM-guided ECU and TCU software updates — to cure cold-start
issues, shift flare or other factory-documented software glitches
Why VAG owners choose Stoke Tuning
- Genuine ODIS with online GEKO and SFD access — no cloned cables,
no offline workarounds - Evening and weekend mobile visits — so taxis, campers and couriers
stay earning while we work on-site - Fixed pricing with no surprises — DSG basic settings £95,
cluster CP removal £120, ABS coding £90 - IMI-accredited technician — £2 m liability cover and
10 years of VAG electrical experience - Free 30-day support — if an adaptation drifts after the visit,
we re-learn it at no extra cost
